Privacy Policy
Effective 15 May 2026
Student Loan Awareness UK is a free calculator that helps UK graduates understand their student loan repayments. This policy explains what information the site collects, what it does with it, and your rights under UK GDPR.
What we collect
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The salary, debt, and plan values you enter stay on your device and are not sent to a server. We do not run accounts, log-ins, or sign-up forms.
We do not collect, store, or share your name, email address, address, date of birth, National Insurance number, or any other personally identifying information through the calculator itself.
Cookies and third-party services
The site uses a small number of third-party services. Each of these may set cookies or process limited technical information about your visit:
- Google AdSense, shows advertising on the site. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure ad performance. You can manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings.
- Vercel, hosts the site and may log standard request information (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and performance, retained for a limited period. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
- Buy Me a Coffee, used only if you click the support button in the footer. It loads the button image from their CDN. If you continue to their platform, their privacy policy applies.
Advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data.
- We don’t maintain a user database.
- We don’t track you across other websites for our own purposes (third-party advertising networks may do so as described above).
- We don’t use behavioural profiling for marketing.
Your rights under UK GDPR
Because the site itself does not store personal data, most rights requests would be answered by saying “we have nothing on you.” However, if you believe the site has handled your data unlawfully, you can:
- Contact us using the email below.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s independent regulator for data protection.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page will always reflect the current version.
